This is a two volume set aimed at examining persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic chemicals that undergo slow environmental degradation in air, water, and soil, bioaccumulate in fish and other organisms, and exhibit a high degree of toxicity. In this volume chapters are devoted to persistence, modeling, and new chemicals. They also cover a broad international perspective on measured and calculated properties of PBTs and how these can be/are being used by governments, national, international organizations and industry to select candidate chemicals for possible control.
