Book Description:
This volume brings together leading scholars of the Dead Sea Scrolls, ancient Judaism, and the archaeology and history of Syria Palestine during the Graeco Roman period. It is unusual in that it emphasises evaluation of methodologies used in research on the scrolls and at the site. Methodologies are considered under four rubrics: textual interconnections (including reports on unpublished scroll materials), scribal and linguistic problems, archaeology, and historiography. Papers in this volume were presented at a conference sponsored by the New York Academy of Sciences which was held on 14th to 17th December, 1992, in New York City.
