Book Description: Greek mythology plays a key role in solving a series of murders and other bizarre incidents at the library of a small New England college. Cliff Collier, a Silicon Valley marketing manager on sabbatical, is attempting to round out his education by studying the Classics, but his reputation as an amateur sleuth has preceded him to campus, and he s called upon to apply his unique powers of deduction to the murder of Jeremy Osgood, College Librarian and Chanucey L. Wingate Professor of the Latin Language. The victim s fan club is scant, however, and finding someone without a plausible motive poses a significant challenge. Before Cliff can fathom the workings of the killer s mind, a second murder and a spate of other fiendish actions throw this erstwhile tranquil campus into turmoil. Jeff Hayes, clinical psychologist at the college, provides additional distraction, as Cliff, middle aged and widowed, comes to terms with his own sexual identity. Several wrong turns prevent Cliff from seeing the truth, but his penchant for finding patterns among disparate pieces of information leads him eventually to the solution. Having completed the puzzle, however, he must also determine how to save himself from the demented killer s plans for silencing him.
